The Paul Gillen Cup will take place this Friday night 7.30pm at Kevin Lynch Park. Paul lined out in the corner back position that day just 15 years of age and is fondly remembered for his hurling skills and comradeship by his fellow team mates and club members. The game will be against Shane O'Neills and will also be a competitive Antrim league match which the minors have been participating in this year. All support will be welcome in this first match at Kevin Lynch Park for the minors after winning county title on Saturday past. This match is always an important date in the Kevin Lynch Hurling Club calendar but maybe a little bit more so this year as Paul was a member of the last minor team to win the county title back in 2001. The 2001 minor side repeated the success of the 2000 side and claimed the county minor title with a win over Slaughtneil. The side once again progressed through the Ulster Championship with a quarter final win over Keady of Armagh, then they gained revenge over Ballygalet in the semi final to set up a final clash with St Gall's of Antrim. ![]() Back row L-R Brendan Mullan, Brian McCartney, Ryan O'Hagan, Micheal O'Kane, Cathal McNicholl, Kevin Farren, Padhraic Murphy, Liam Hinphey.
